Mentoring & Peer Support
Our Mentoring & Peer Support program connects children and young people with positive role models who inspire confidence, encourage personal growth, and help build the skills needed to navigate everyday life.
What is Mentoring & Peer Support?
Mentoring & Peer Support is about creating meaningful connections with people who can encourage, guide, and support young people through different stages of life.
We carefully match each young person with a mentor who aligns with their interests, personality, goals, and aspirations. These relationships provide a safe and supportive space where young people can build confidence, explore new experiences, and develop important life skills.
Whether it’s learning something new, trying a new activity, building independence, or simply having someone to talk to, our mentors are there to walk alongside each young person’s journey.
-
Our mentoring support is tailored around each young person, focusing on building confidence, independence, and the skills needed to navigate everyday life.
Support may include:
Building confidence and self-esteem
Developing communication and social skills
Exploring hobbies, interests, and new experiences
Encouraging independence and decision-making
Building everyday life skills, such as managing routines, appointments, and responsibilities
Supporting employment goals, including exploring career pathways, preparing for work, and building workplace confidence
Developing practical skills such as understanding registrations, managing insurance, and navigating other adult responsibilities
Setting and working towards personal goals
Developing resilience, problem-solving, and coping strategies
Creating positive community connections and opportunities to participate
Every young person is unique, and our approach is built around celebrating who they are while supporting who they want to become. Through encouragement, guidance, and meaningful relationships, we help young people build the confidence and skills they need to take their next steps towards independence.

The foundation of great mentoring is a genuine connection.
We take the time to get to know each young person. From there, we carefully match them with someone who can encourage, motivate, and support them in a way that feels natural and meaningful.
The best mentors don't just provide guidance; they become someone young people can trust, learn from, and feel inspired by.

Beginning your journey with Flourishing Lives starts with a conversation. We'll take the time to get to know you, understand your goals, and learn what matters most to you.
From there, we'll create a personalised support plan and carefully match you with a support worker who complements your personality, interests, and aspirations.
Relationships that inspire.
Our mentors focus on building trust, creating a safe space, and supporting young people at their own pace. Rather than telling young people who they should be, we support them to discover who they are and what they are capable of achieving.
